Brian Small

Councillor for Haddington & Lammermuir

Born, raised and educated in Edinburgh, Brian's career has been in the banking and investment management sectors until his retirement from mainstream business life in 2015.

Brian has worked for RBS, Franklin Templeton Investments and as a consultant at Standard Life Investments for a short period.  The latter stages of his working life were spent in senior relationship management roles and involved substantial global travel far beyond the borders of East Lothian!

Brian has lived in Pencaitland since 1994.  His wife, Karen, has worked at Elphinstone Primary School for 20 years. They have one son, Andrew, who is also a keen party member and is currently completing a PhD thesis in Medieval History.

Brian also sits on the Board of Penumbra a Scottish-based mental health charity and is the Chairman of their trading subsidiary.
