BETTER TOGETHER EAST LOTHIAN LAUNCH

The East Lothian group of the pro-United Kingdom Better Together campaign got off to a hugely successful start with a well-attended official launch event at the Haddington Town House on Thursday, 23rd May. 

DUNBAR STATION

Last Thursday (2nd May) East Lothian Council Transport Spokesman, Councillor Michael Veitch, met with Mr Tim Hedley-Jones, Stations and Property Director at East Coast Trains, at Dunbar Station. They discussed a number of issues including service patterns, pedestrian access to the station and car parking.

EAST LOTHIAN BUS FORUM

Today (30th April) East Lothian Council Transport spokesman Cllr Michael Veitch hosted the second meeting of the East Lothian Bus Forum at Council headquarters in Haddington. Attendees included representatives of all the County’s main bus operators, community councils, RELBUS, SESTran and Council officers.

HADDINGTON SHERIFF COURT

East Lothian Conservatives have condemned the Scottish Government’s approval of the Scottish Court Service’s plans which will see the closure of around one fifth of Scotland’s Sheriff Courts, including Haddington Sheriff Court.

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, the Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith, MP, attended a lunch hosted by the East Lothian Conservative and Unionist Association (ELCUA) in North Berwick on Wednesday 27 March. Over 110 attended.
