The Secretary of State for Scotland, David Mundell MP, urged local party workers to back Rachael Hamilton the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party candidate in next year's Scottish Parliament election during a visit to East Lothian.
Mr Mundell made his remarks today as he opened the Conservative Party's new offices in Haddington. The office, at 4 Church Street, will be run by the recently appointed local organiser Sarah Russell.
David Mundell said: "The Conservative Party is committed to working in the best interests of the vibrant East Lothian community. Rachael Hamilton is a strong local candidate and the opening of a new Conservative Party office with new staff demonstrates the party's commitment to the constituency."
Candidate Rachael Hamilton, who runs the Buccleugh Arms in St Boswells, added: "I welcome the Secretary of State's support and the opportunity for him to meet our strong and committed local team who know East Lothian and its' needs well."
