The results of last night's Council by-elections demonstrated that Scottish Conservative and Unionist support continues to grow. In 6 out of the 7 elections held, the results continued the momentum that the Scottish Conservatives have been building on since the Independence Referendum and this year's General Election.
Conservative vote share increases were as follows:
Glenrothes West & Kinglassie (Fife) +3.2%
Irvine Valley (East Ayrshire) +5.8%
Midstocket / Rosemount (Aberdeen) +9.8%
George St / Harbour (Aberdeen) +3.7%
Stirling East (Stirling) +3.1%
Heldon & Laich (Moray) +4.6%
In both Irvine Valley and Midstocket / Rosemount, the vote share put the Scottish Conservatives in to 2nd place beating Labour. Validation that voters are moving away from Labour and choosing the only credible party to stand up for the Union.
