Commenting on the paper passed at today’s East Lothian Council meeting authorising the traffic order associated with coastal car park charging, Councillor Michael Veitch (Dunbar & East Linton) said:
“The debate and vote on whether to introduce charging took place back in December 2012, and while I voted against its implementation, I accept that a majority of councillors voted for it to become Council policy. While I remain very strongly opposed to the introduction of coastal car park charging, I respect that a democratic decision has been made and that it would therefore be churlish to try to block the traffic order associated with its introduction.”
