Speaking after the Planning Committee today refused permission for the erection of a turbine on Blackcastle Hill near Innerwick, local councillor Michael Veitch said:
“I welcome the fact that permission for this turbine has been refused. Despite the applicant being the Dunbar Community Energy Company, it is important to remember that the proposed location was not in Dunbar but on the outskirts of Innerwick. East Lammermuir Community Council had made clear their opposition to the turbine based on local opinion in their area, and the turbine was also contrary to East Lothian Council’s own guidance. I very much hope that the applicant will therefore respect the clearly expressed wishes of both the local community and the Council, and not pursue an appeal to the Scottish Government.”
